【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodscoverrequirementsforsimulatedservicetestsandtestingequipmentfordeterminingtheperformancecharacteristicsofvarioustypesandshapesofsteelsdesignatedforuseindetentionandcorrectionalfacilitiesasfixedbarrierstopreventegressandtocontrolpassage.1.2Itistheintentofthesetestmethodstohelpensurethatopeningassembliessuchasdetentionsecuritywindows,grilles,bargrating,andotherphysicalbarriersincorporatingsteelbarsperformatoraboveminimumacceptablelevelsforcontrolofpassagetounauthorizedorsecureareas,forconfinementofinmatesandtodelayorfrustrateescapeattempts.Tomeettheintentofthesetestmethods,openingassemblesmustperformtograderequirementsshowninTablesX1.1andX1.2inAppendixX1.1.3Thesetestmethodsapplyprimarilytothesteelsusedasessentialcomponentsofdetentionsecuritywindows,grilles,bargrating,andsoforth,inopeningassembliesenclosingorseparatingsecureareasofdetention/correctionalfacilities.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandardupdatesandcombinestwopreviousstandards,ASTMSpecificationsA627-95andA629-94,establishingnewsecuritygradesandtimedurations.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
