【摘要】:Theresultsobtainedbythistestmethodareusefulasguidesindeterminingthetendencyofawater-basedmetalworkingcoolanttoproducefoamunderlowshearconditions.Nocorrelationwithchangesinheattransfer,pumpability,orotherfactorsaffectedbyfoamisintended.Thefoamgeneratedbyanygivenindustrialprocessdependsonthemethodbywhichthefoamisgeneratedandmaynotbedirectlyproportionaltothatproducedbythiscontrolledlaboratorytestmethod.Further,thefoamgeneratedatthespecifiedtesttemperaturewillnotnecessarilypredictthefoamingtendencyoftheliquid(thatis,metalworkingcoolant)atsomeotherusetemperature.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheincreaseinvolumeofalow-viscosityaqueousliquid(lessthan3cStat40176;C)duetoitstendencytofoamunderlowshearconditions.Note1-FoamunderhighsheariscoveredbyTestMethodD3519whichusesacommercialblender.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,see7.13.
