【摘要】:ThisQOSFrameworkisastructuredcollectionofconceptsandtheirrelationshipswhichdescribesQOS(QualityofService)andenablesthepartitioningof,andrelationshipsbetween,thetopicsrelevanttoQOSinInformationTechnology(IT)tobeexpressedbyacommonmeansofdescription.Inparticular,thisQOSFrameworkisdirectedatITsystemsandtheiruseinprovidingOpenDistributedProcessingservices.ThisQOSFrameworkisintendedtoassistthosedesigningandspecifyingITsystems,andthosedefiningcommunicationsservicesandprotocols,byprovidingguidanceonQOSapplicabletosystems,servicesandresourcesofvariouskinds.ItdescribeshowQOScanbecharacterized,howQOSrequirementscanbespecified,andhowQOScanbemanaged.ThisQOSFrameworkdefinesterminologyandconceptsforQOSinIT.ItintroducestheconceptofQOScharacteristics,whichrepresentthefundamentalaspectsofQOSthataretobemanagedinvariousways;anditdefinesanumberofQOScharacteristicsofparticularimportance.ThesedefinitionsareindependentofhowQOSisrepresentedorcontrolledinarealsystem.ThisFrameworkdescribeshowQOSrequirementscanbeexpressed,andidentifiesanumberofQOSmechanisms(suchasthree-partynegotiation)thatcanbeusedascomponentsofQOSmanagementfunctionstomeetQOSrequirementsofvariouskinds.Italsodescribesthecircumstancesinwhichvariouscombinationsofmechanismsmaybeappropriate.ThisQOSFrameworkprovidesabasisforthespecificationofextensionsandenhancementstoexistingorplannedstandards,asaresultoftheneedfor,andapplicationof,theQOSconceptsdefinedinthisRecommendation|InternationalStandard.ItisnottheintentofthisRecommendation|InternationalStandardtodestabiliseanyexistingRecommendations|InternationalStandards;rather,itisintendedthatthisQOSFrameworkmaybeusedby:·developersofneworrevisedIT-relatedstandardswhichdefineoruseQOSmechanisms;and·ITusersexpressingrequirementsforQOS.ThisQOSFrameworkdoesnotattempttoprovideabasisforthespecificationofperformanceobjectivesornetworksignallingofQOSinpubliccommunicationsnetworks.TheQOSaspectsofthesecommunicationsservicesareaddressedbyotherITU-TRecommendations.TheintentofthisRecommendation|InternationalStandardistoprovideacommonvocabularytobothserviceprovidersandserviceusers.NothinginthisRecommendation|InternationalStandardshouldbeconstruedasplacingrequirementsoneitherserviceprovidersorserviceusers.ItishopedthatacommonapproachandvocabularyforQOSwillassistmultipleserviceproviderstodeliverend-to-endQOStoend-systems.ThisQOSFrameworkspecificallyexcludesthedetailedspecificationofQOSmechanisms.ItisnottheintentofthisRecommendation|InternationalStandardtoserveasanimplementationspecification,tobeabasisforappraisingtheconformanceofimplementations,ortodefineparticularservicesandprotocols.Rather,itprovidesaconceptualandfunctionalframeworkforQOSwhichallowsindependentteamsofexpertstoworkproductivelyonthedevelopmentofRecommendations|InternationalStandards.AsappliedtoOSI,thisQOSFrameworkisconsistentwiththeOSIBasicReferenceModelinthatitdescribesoperationsandmechanismswhichareassignabletolayersasspecifiedintheOSIBasicReferenceModel.ItisconsistentwiththeOSIManagementFramework(seeITU-TRec.X.700|ISO/IEC7498-4)andtheSystemsManagementOverview(seeITU-TRec.X.701|ISO/IEC10040)initsassignmentoffunctionstomanagemententities.InAnnexA,thisQOSFrameworkpresentsamodelofQOSforOSIwhichidentifiestheentitiesthatparticipateinthemanagementofQOS,definestheflowofQOS-relatedinformationbetweenthemanddescribeshowthisinformationisused.
